LAKE NAKURU EXCURSION

Located just a two to three hour drive from Nairobi, Lake Nakuru National Park is the perfect choice for those wanting a safari when time is limited. Once home to Kenya's famous flamingo flocks, the park is now most famous for its large herds of buffalo, the presence of four of the Big Five, and its larger than average populations of rhinoceros.

A scenic park bordering Lake Nakuru, it's a fun day trip from the city.

You'll be picked up from your hotel or the airport and immediately whisked away to Lake Nakuru National Park. The short, two to three hour drive passes by some beautiful scenery, and before you know it you'll be lakeside and ready for your game drive. The park is no longer home to its once famous flamingo flocks, but it remains a world class game drive destination. Four of the Big Five are present (with elephants being the noteable absence), with both buffalo and rhinoceros being especially common in the park. You'll enjoy a day long game drive along the shores of Lake Nakuru taking in its diverse variety of both animal and bird life. You'll then return to Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening. A picnic lunch or lunch at one of the park's lodges can be arranged upon request.
